What Kind of Parent Are You?

No, no. I’m not yelling that at you in an accusatory tone of voice. Why are you so sensitive? Something you need to confess???

What I really mean is there are many different kinds of parents:
* The Crafty Parent who will set up stations of chaos fun with glue, glitter, markers, paint, egg cartons, and the like and make a wonderful, sparkly Eiffel Tower that lights up when you clap your hands three times

Blue fingers and aggravation

I started making my kids’ birthday cakes after the local bakery botched my child’s first cake.  I had requested a tractor cake and placed the order at least a week beforehand.  They called me the morning of the party to inform me that they did not have the adorable tractor accessories and what should they do?

Is that a salad I smell?

Today, if you walked into my bathroom, you might have thought I had left a salad in there.  But no, it was a cloth saturated with white vinegar wrapped around my faucets making you crave a green salad with vinegrette dressing.

I am a 38-year-old Girl Scout

Times are tough. Everyone is looking down to see if they see a shiny copper-colored coin, and it doesn’t even matter if the guy is face-up these days. I’m grateful that the check in the mail really was in the mail, and that no one’s strap broke and let “the girls” loose at the Golden Globes last night. The Hoarder & The Homeschooler: a marraige made in heaven!

I am a hoarder    collector    saver reuser of items.  I was doing it long before it became fashionably “green” to reduce, reuse, recycle.  I blame credit my mother and grandmother who never lost some of the depression era frugality (there was always a can of used cooking grease/lard in the house).

I “acquire” things (sometimes in quantity) and hold onto them (sometimes for too long) because you never know when you might need them.
