I will admit, I adore the Shrek movies.  I remember when the first Shrek came out, I read that someone was upset about a princess that burped and found that in bad taste.  Since I find most of the princess mythology in bad taste, I ignored that particular judgement.

We have had an ongoing mice problem in the garage.  It wasn’t really an issue for me.  I kept the bird seed in a metal trashcan.  There, no big deal!  I have always had cats in the house, and sometimes outdoors cats.  Needless to say, the mice do not come inside.

I am a stay at home mom.  As a stay at home mom, there are lots of things I would like to do, but don’t always get to.  Even working moms have that whole time/money crunch thing going on, so they too fall in the same boat.  Your salon money goes to daycare or you end up eating clearanced pomegranates while your kids get fresh and perky grapes that cost as much a pound as a nice cut of meat.  Did I mention sleep?  Yeah, we won’t go there today.  We all know we aren’t getting enough of it.

I will always champion the single parents and military spouses.  I really do not think I am made of the material they are to handle the enormous task of parenting on my own.  While my own situation is not ideal, with my husband working second shift and every weekend, we have managed to strike up some bargains that make it seem a bit more equitable, playing on the other’s likes and dislikes.

One of the great things about marriage is the whole partnership aspect of it.  I mean sure, there are MANY great things about marriage, but after the glow wears off and you realize forever is hard work, someone having your back is a very excellent thing.  Especially since that doesn’t come up nearly as often as the opportunity to give each other grief.
