It’s sad when one finds amusement in little jagged-edged colorful clippings. Every week I challenge myself to see how much I can save, and the more I save, the better I feel. Some women shop for shoes, but since my pregnant cankles are here to stay for the next month or so, in my book, a BOGO and a manufacturer’s coupon beats any DSW friends and family sale.

Why is there a “mental hurrah” behind saving a buck or two? Is there a Freudian theory that can be connected to this new obsession? Can this be dated back to cavewomen and fur-trading…or is my life so trivial that I need a distraction? I guess if I need a distraction, this is the way to go. I mean, I can’t over eat (there’s no room in the belly and I start to breathe heavily), I can’t drink (although I’ve tried grape juice in a wine glass on a hard day), and the smallest dust particle or sign of disorganization makes my left eyebrow twitch. There are pluses to being pregnant!

…God grant me the serenity to find a darn good deal and tell the world about it!

I love finding something on clearance at Target and having a coupon for it! It is funny how satisfying and almost giddy I get.
Do you have Groupon where you are? I have yet to buy any because we are still not quite there yet with the extra money but I can’t wait! I have missed out on some really cool ones like hot air balloon rides, mani-pedi even trapeze lessons. They also do restaurant coupons and whatnot. I like that it is local businesses who participate.

    • Yes, I have Groupon. However, I haven’t been able to use any of them because I’m just trying to make ends meet with food and household items…however, you HAVE to do Restaurant.com. You can get $25 gift certificates for as little as $2!

  2. Target takes coupons??? You learn something new every day! They aren’t in my cheapskate trilogy of stores, but I might have to add them!

    • Yes, target takes coupons. Also, somehow we got mailed some as well. I think when you create a registry you get magically signed up for some free coupons too. Might be worth creating a registry…just for the coupons! In any case, you can use one manufacturer’s coupon and one target coupon per item. Meaning…yes, you can combine them for some excellent deals~ :)
