It’s been a while since I have had a chance to post. I began substitute teaching in the fall. Some of my dear teacher friends pointed out to me that perhaps having my photo right there with some of my posts was not the best idea. Blogging about work was a definite no-no. Chances are good at some point I have written something that would offend someone, but that really is nothing new. I found myself with a wicked case of writer’s block.
Not to mention life itself has its overwhelming moments. JD’s adjustment to my part time work hasn’t been drastic, but little things here and there have emerged. Teething and his sudden ability to go without a nap or much sleep in general has left me rather haggard and impatient. My own tossing and turning now has a soundtrack consisting of new and interesting noises that my joints make. Who knew elbows could be that loud? I surely did not.
Sadly, you have not missed much. Tater is obsessed with WWII, and I have had to ban any talk of Hiroshima at the dinner table. Linus has added perhaps two new foods to the list of things that he will eat. He is getting hungrier though, so maybe the picky eater battles will end soon (I actually snickered sarcastically at myself for that one). JD is now a Wipeout fanatic. It is so wonderful that he can say “big balls” with great enunciation. It has only been a month and I am ready for this to pass.
I am also back because I miss blogging. My old blogging group was just talking about this. Why aren’t we making it a priority to do something we love? It’s hard to say. Some have continued on. That is why my next post will be a guest blogger, a blast from my past. She is a marvelous writer. She can be hilarious and she can be poignant. I have enjoyed following her for years, and I hope you will take the time to see what she has to offer as well!
I hope to scratch out some time to share some of the antics of my children more often. And perhaps my own as well! I mean, I went ROLLER SKATING and lived to tell about it without the benefit of plaster casts.

Glad you’re getting back into blogging again. Now I can stop stalking you on Facebook
I love the whole WWII thing. Awesome! Glad you’re back. Seriously. Time flies…
