We have had an ongoing mice problem in the garage.  It wasn’t really an issue for me.  I kept the bird seed in a metal trashcan.  There, no big deal!  I have always had cats in the house, and sometimes outdoors cats.  Needless to say, the mice do not come inside.

I will always champion the single parents and military spouses.  I really do not think I am made of the material they are to handle the enormous task of parenting on my own.  While my own situation is not ideal, with my husband working second shift and every weekend, we have managed to strike up some bargains that make it seem a bit more equitable, playing on the other’s likes and dislikes.

One of the great things about marriage is the whole partnership aspect of it.  I mean sure, there are MANY great things about marriage, but after the glow wears off and you realize forever is hard work, someone having your back is a very excellent thing.  Especially since that doesn’t come up nearly as often as the opportunity to give each other grief.

I used to be a real stickler when it came to nutrition.  I did not buy junk food.  I encouraged the kids to snack on cereal rather than potato chips.  This worked out pretty well until the kids went out into the world.  They discovered fruit snacks, and it was the beginning of the end.

The other night my husband and I were going to watch a movie on Netflix.  We recently got the Netflix for Wii deal, since it had come so highly recommended by friends.  We had the horrific mistake of adding up what we spend a year on our satellite dish one night when we couldn’t find anything to watch.  Needless to say, $9 a month was looking pretty swell.  Aside from my shows on TNT, most of my programs are on free stations.  The children have grown way too fond of the DVR as well.  That is saying something, since I tend to refer to the DVR as my boyfriend.  Hey, if I can’t stay up to see the end of Grey’s Anatomy, its got my back!
