There is nothing like that first truly warm day of the year to make you feel like a kid again! I had seen today’s weather forecast, high of 77 but 90 percent chance of precipitation. No matter, I had already visions of open windows (or at least cracked open) in my head.

I spent some major hours wrapping presents this week. Presents that had to be bought. Presents that came in the mail from family. Lots and lots of presents!
I received presents this week. Really nice and thoughtful presents, which usually only come from my mother or sister. They know me well enough to know what I really like or need. For example, my wardrobe. My mom tends to send me clothes that I inevitably get compliments on. Last year, my sister bought me cosmetics, complete with a “this is how you use this” tutorial. I needed it, and was happy to get it. My Grams gets me similarly useful things, but more along the cleaning supply line. I guess you’d have to know us to get that particular joke!

My life has radically changed now that I am back in the work force. Sure, I could talk about my time, but I am only there part time. I don’t have Mommy Guilt, because I leave JD with his father in his own home until we switch places and he leaves for work when I come home. I don’t even go to bed any earlier, because I was getting up with the kids anyway.

There are some questions that fill you with dread. Such as when you get married, well meaning folks automatically start asking when you are going to start a family. I have to admire the kind of women who respond with “when the condom breaks, I guess!”
