The school system sent home an end of the year present to my family: green funk. My kids have been alternating oozing green funk out of various facial orifices. It wasn’t quite the blueberry streusel muffins and homemade jam I gave them, but hey. I would have been happy enough with the quality education my kids got!

One of the great things about marriage is the whole partnership aspect of it. I mean sure, there are MANY great things about marriage, but after the glow wears off and you realize forever is hard work, someone having your back is a very excellent thing. Especially since that doesn’t come up nearly as often as the opportunity to give each other grief.

The school tends to send home a pound of paper with the children every other day, so running across yet another note and calendar was not surprising. Sadly, this particular note stated that there would be no school next day due to the flu.

One thing you never realize before you become a parent is just how tired you can be. All nighters in college? Hangovers? None of it compares to motherhood. I haven’t pinned down just why yet, but I suspect it stems from two things: 1) we aren’t getting any younger and 2) it never ends.

Oh, the joys of having school aged children! They bring home every germ available. I keep buying the megaload of Puffs Plus at the warehouse store, yet we still run out. I love rainbow colored mucus as much as the next mom, but I have had enough.
