The witching hours are fraught with peril, are they not?  I used to laugh when I would see the phrase “witching hour”.  Singular?  Seriously?  The period from after school until bedtime had the potential to turn me into the parental equivalent of Jack Torrance in The Shining: feeling trapped and more than a little crazy.

Identity is a strange thing.  It’s hard to let go of certain things or labels that we feel define us.  I was a SAHM for so long, I found the last four months rather challenging.  Oh wait, I am NOT a SAHM anymore.

Life changes when your baby goes mobile.  We know this, or we learn it pretty damn quickly!  I have to laugh at one of my friends, as she is on her first baby.  She is battling her first round of teething.  She reminds me so much of myself that I can predict what her comments will be once her darling daughter gets past the crawling stage.  Bound to be colorful, to say the least.

February is a hard month in Michigan.  I am not the only one who starts to go a wee bit insane when doubt kicks in that the snow will ever melt, or you will see the sun shine after 1 PM.

There’s something to be said for a good appetite…on someone else. Let’s face it, when it comes to a woman, it gets personal. And, no matter how ravenous a woman is, if you tell her she eats like a horse, you’re going to get your teeth kicked in.
