No, I’m not talking about the secrets moms keep from the dads, from their kids, from the world.  I am talking about the secrets moms keep from each other — specifically pregnant or new moms.  I remember when I was pregnant, I got my fair share of birth stories.  Okay, I got MORE than my fair share, and every mother does.  We hear every horror story there is about labor and delivery.  Heck, I know I share mine when the subject comes up, it’s almost uncontrollable!  Except mine aren’t horror stories, as I had two lovely deliveries.  Yes, it HURT, but what do you expect when you’re “squeezing something the size of a watermelon out an opening the size of a lemon”?  (That line from “Look Who’s Talking” always stuck with me.)

I have a bit of a reputation on MySpace for blogging rather candidly about poop.  I think I gathered most of my readership from people’s curiosity as to what sort of fecal misadventure I would have that day. I remember the first time I heard my coworkers (first time moms) discussing their kids’ bowel movements.  I thought to myself “what the hell?” or something equally disparaging.  I mean seriously.  Why?!
