We all have coping mechanisms and things that make us feel a bit more in control of things, even when that control is illusory at best. Sometimes it is taken too far, and you end up with eating disorders or washing your hands way more than hygiene calls for, but everyone has to deal with their stuff. It may be a healthy way or not, and I try not to judge. Or at least not judge out loud, since my house is made of glass and errant stones or friendly fire would be a bad thing.

I will admit, I adore the Shrek movies. I remember when the first Shrek came out, I read that someone was upset about a princess that burped and found that in bad taste. Since I find most of the princess mythology in bad taste, I ignored that particular judgement.
One of the hardest things about having more than child is that they all want their share of undivided attention. This is relatively impossible. With my husband working second shift, sometimes the mere idea of one on one time is enough to make me laugh hysterically.
I love infomercials. Our garage is filled with miscellaneous $19.99 (+ shipping and handling of course) wonders like rotisseries and steam cleaners, and I use, abuse and then lose these items in the deep dark depths of our garage faster than my husband can roll his eyes.
I was going to give a short breakdown of my single mom life, but there’s nothing short about it. So, I decided that you’ll get to know me, and all the loca aspects of this life, as I move through this blog. I will say that I’m much happier, and my daughters and I are doing much better since my divorce–almost six years ago. And I remind myself of this every time I start to feel lonely. But there’s not a lot of time for that with all my jobs. I joke that I collect part-time jobs as if it’s my glass menagerie.
